From a chronological point of view, he could have been the grandson of Salamon [I] by one of the latter´s daughters, most likely Aveline/Eva by her husband Aymeric d´Alluyes, after whom Salamon [II]´s son would have been named, although there is no proof that this speculation is correct[1256]. His name certainly indicates a close family relationship to Salamon [I].
