"Beatrix comitissa de Gisnes et castellana de Bourbourch" donated property to the abbey of Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Choques, for the souls of "patris mei Walteri castellani de Bourbourch et matris meæ Mathildis de Bethunia dominæ de Chokes et Arnoldi comitis Gisnensis mariti mei et fratris mei Henrici castellani de Bourbourch", by charter dated 12 May 1221[1101]. The Chronica Andrensis records the death in Aug 1224 "apud Broburgh" of "Beatrix comitissa de Gisnes et castellana de Broburg" after a reconciliation with her eldest son Baudouin following many disputes after the death of her husband[1102].
