"Villelmus Paganellus" founded the abbey of Hambie, with the consent of "filiorum meorum Hugonis et Fulconis, et Thomæ et Ioannis", by undated charter, dated to [1145][134]. "…Folqueio Painel…" confirmed the charter dated to [1180/82] under which Henry II King of England confirmed a donation to the abbey of Hambie by "Philippus de Columbariis"[135]. The Red Book of the Exchequer, listing scutage payments in [1190/91], records "feoda Fulkonis Paingnel" paying "xx s…ii milites" in Yorkshire[136].
