Anecdote
FREDERIC (-Trier 23 Oct 942, bur Trier). The Vita Iohannis Gorziensis names "Fridericus…infantulus quidem monasterio sancti Humberti…mancipatus" as "patruus…domni Adelberonis", adding that he shunned the monastic vocation but later retired to the abbey of Gorze, and afterwards became abbot at Saint-Hubert[49]. Nothing is known of his life outside the monasteries, apart from his advising his nephew Adalbero Bishop of Metz.
