Robert of Torigny records the marriage arranged by Henry II King of England in 1170 of "Hugoni comiti Cestriæ cognate suo" and "filiam comitis Ebroicensis cognatam suam ex parte patris sui"[2605]. “Bertreia comitissa Cestrie...” witnessed the charter dated to [1169/73] under which Hugh Earl of Chester granted land at Coventry to Godfrey his homager[2606]. The Rotuli de Dominabus of 1185 records property “Beltesford etHemmingebi et Dunintone” held by “Bertia comitissa, filia comitis deEvereros, uxor Hugonis comitis Cestrie”[2607]. “Bertrada comitissa Cestrie...” witnessed the charter dated [3 Feb 1188/15 Nov 1189] under which “Ranulfus dux Britannie comes Cestrie et Richmondie” confirmed a donation to Bordesley abbey[2608]. The Annals of Burton record the death in 1227 of “Bertrudis comitissa Cestriæ”[2609].
